  1. Congrats Tonya on terrific shots for your first assignment. Your creative eye shines through your shots. My favorites are: #3 and #4 for their crisp simplicity. Putting #4 in the natural setting outside is very nice. My other favorites are: #9 of Brady....but then again, I'm biased that you have such a photogenic subject. My last fave is #10 because you again shot that with a backdrop that related to the subject (that particular hat.). Did you mean for that one to be cocked a bit? Just curious.

    1. thanks Lynn. yes I did mean for it to be crooked I like to play with angles, that was the only pic I took with my iphone, all the rest were with my cannon. I had a blast with this assignment, I gathered all my hats and just went all over my house photographing them, lol. I of course had to add one of my cutie, :)

My absolute fave is #4 it's perfect! #5 is very creative and it all worked, #8 has attitude and the vignette helped pull your eye in to the subject. #9 the blue eyes and smile are adorable. #10 you definitely captured the mood in your composition. Bravo!

    1. Thanks, this was a fun subject I am a owner of many hats, it was fun to find different ways to display them. Black and white is my favorite, I use it often, I like how it can add a story of its own.

  4. Hi Tonya,
    Nice to meet you.
I like the Darth Vadar in the cowboy hat one at the top, but my favorite is the BW hat on the hooks(#3) good perspective and texture of the cloth.
All your pics are very creative and good quality.
Is there something to do with Texas here? Lone star??

    1. Thanks Burr, its nice to meet you as well, and to share my hobby with all of you and learn from your perspectives. No Texas theme, I am a Michigander but a country girl at heart. I love stars and rustic décor which both run throughout my home.

  5. Hi, Tonya- wow, your photos look like professional advertising shots. Great composition with line, shape, color, texture- very interesting. The black and whites are the most appealing to me for all of the above! I, too, am having fun with my camera again and I find looking through the camera lens to be very relaxing...
